The “Ki to World Peace” initiative, known as the Ki Project, draws profound inspiration from the teachings of Aunty Pilahi Paki, a revered Native Hawaiian poet, philosopher, and spiritual guide. Aunty Pilahi dedicated her life to elucidating the authentic essence of aloha, encompassing love, compassion, and kindness, and emphasized that Hawaiians are its true custodians. She prophesied that “the world will turn to Hawaiʻi as they search for peace because Hawaiʻi has the key; and that key is ALOHA,” highlighting the universal significance of this Hawaiian value.

Central to Aunty Pilahi’s teachings is the ALOHA Chant, which assigns profound meanings to each letter:  

• A: Akahai – Kindness expressed with tenderness  

• L: Lōkahi – Unity expressed with harmony  

• O: ʻOluʻolu – Agreeability expressed with pleasantness  

• H: Haʻahaʻa – Humility expressed with modesty 

• A: Ahonui – Patience applied with perseverance 

These principles serve as the foundation for the Ki Project’s mission to seek justice for the Kānaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian people) and to reconnect the global community to the piko (origin) of aloha. By embodying these values, the initiative aims to foster reconciliation and promote world peace, inviting individuals worldwide to engage with and support this transformative movement.
